Swimming Creek Sunrise

At this time of the morn, the beach is deserted

The sand unblemished by the daily scars of footprints

My bare feet are the first to crunch the virgin sand

Great Neptune slumbers still

Everything stands in motionless awe of the sun

Even the waves seem to hush their tireless roar

Tamed into tender quietude as they lap the shoreline

The nearby bush birds have not yet awakened

To begin their daybreak euphony

Vast mother ocean gives birth to the sun

It rises, spreading its golden arm across the water

The gift of a new day

Filled with promise and possibility
